For four to six weeks before the procedure, avoid using any skincare products near the area. This includes retinol, vitamin C, glycolic acid, other AHAs and BHAs, niacinamide, and brightening products. Additionally, try to avoid spending too much time in the sun because damaged skin prevents tattoos.
AFTERCARE & HEALING FOR PERMANENT MAKEUP
As a cosmetic tattoo artist, I ensure every client has all the information they need to ensure their aftercare and healing go well. Depending on which permanent cosmetic procedure you have had, I will provide you with a list of best practices to ensure you heal correctly. Each client's skin responds differently in terms of healing time and the number of sessions required for desired results and color retention.
From properly cleaning your cosmetic tattoo to applying ointment to not performing any strenuous activities, avoiding UV exposure, and not using facial or skin cleaners, I will outline everything you need to do to heal with the best possible results.
All first-time clients are recommended to book a second session or touch-up 3-6 months following their initial appointment. Once fully healed, clients may choose to return for color boosts to maintain the color and vibrancy of their cosmetic tattoos.
