Pre/Post Care

Please read the following instructions:

*NOT FOLLOWING THESE RULES FOR ANY SERVICE MAY NEGATIVELY IMPACT YOUR FINAL RESULTS.

***FOR TATTOOS: Each client's skin responds differently in terms of healing time and the number of sessions required for desired results and color retention. This information is a guideline only, and we cannot guarantee your results. The longevity of your tattoo depends on pre-appointment skin care, care during the healing process, and ongoing maintenance.

lips

To perform cosmetic tattoo procedures on the lips, the skin of your lips must be hydrated and moisturized on the day of your appointment. The artist cannot tattoo on overdry or cracked lip tissue. As such, it is essential that clients begin a daily lip care regimen 5 days before you are scheduled to come in to ensure the lips are properly prepared.
HYDRATE YOUR LIPS: If your lips are prone to drying/cracking, please hydrate them in the days leading up to your appointment with an ointment, balm, or mask, such as Aquaphor or Laneige Lip Mask.
LIP SCRUB: After showering or washing your face in the evening, when lips are soft and supple, gently scrub your lips using a lip scrub, especially the middle, before applying your chosen ointment or balm. You can make your own lip scrub at home with equal parts brown sugar, honey, and olive or coconut oil.
NO BOTOX OR FILLERS: Avoid Botox or fillers in the lip area at least 6 weeks before and after your appointment.
**HISTORY OF COLD SORES/FEVER BLISTERS: If you have a history of cold sores and/or fever blisters, it is suggested you obtain antiviral medication from your doctor (such as Valtrex) and take the day before, the day of, and the day after your appointment, or as directed by your doctor. If you experience frequent outbreaks, please note that Lip Blush can only be done after 4 weeks from your most recent outbreak. The prescription does not guarantee you will not have an outbreak, however it will greatly reduce the chances one occurs. **

eyes

NO LASH SERUMS: Discontinue Use of Lash or Growth Serum 8 Weeks Prior
NO LASH LIFTS/TINTS: at least 5 Days prior + 2 Weeks After
NO LASH EXTENSIONS: Remove any lash extensions at least 30 days before your appointment, and do not re-apply until 2 weeks after your touch-up.
NO CONTACT LENSES: Contacts cannot be worn during or 24 hours following the eyeliner procedure.
NO LASH GROWTH SERUMS: Latisse, Lash Boost, or other eyelash growth serums must be discontinued at least 2 months before the procedure.

**According to the WHO, approximately 2/3 of adults have HSV-1, the virus that causes cold sores, and may not even be aware of it. Lip blushing can activate this virus and cause an outbreak. To play it safe, consider taking Lysine, an amino acid supplement available over the counter, in the days leading up to your appointment. It has been shown to help prevent outbreaks.

*Brows:

TREATING YOUR BROWS DAYS 1+2: For the first 3 hours following your treatment, blot the treated area every hour with provided antiseptic wipes. On the second day, blot or gently wipe the treated area three times: morning, afternoon and evening, again with provided antiseptic wipes.

IMPORTANT: It is normal to be excited about your new brows; however do not touch, pick, peel, tamper, scratch, rub, injure or remove the peeling in any way, you will damage the color and negatively affect the color retention. Let the skin naturally go through the healing and recovery process.

Because of the skin's natural healing and regeneration process, it is normal for clients to experience color loss, or what appears to be color loss, causing the brows to look uneven or even disappear altogether in some areas. This is the reason a minimum of two treatments are recommended to ensure the best possible results. The touch-up appointment is where the artist may make any minor adjustments, and pigment the area slowly for the most natural outcome.

DURING THE NEXT 5 DAYS: You will start to experience a dry sensation in the treated area. Once this begins to happen you may apply a rice grain size amount of the A+D ointment provided (for both brows) where it feels dry. This can vary from client to client. If you have extremely oily skin and do not experience this dryness, DO NOT apply the ointment as it will negatively affect your color retention.

Abstain from any physical activity. Do not let any sweat, water, lotion, soap, or makeup touch the treated area. You may apply a thin layer of ointment when showering or washing your face to protect the area from steam and moisture.

You may wash your face normally after the 5th day.

DURING THE NEXT 14 DAYS: NO hot sauna, swimming pool, ocean, hot bath/shower, sun tanning, tanning salons, vaseline, Neosporin, or any other petroleum-based products. NO massages, facials, waxing, threading, laser or skin treatments. DO NOT expose the area to unsanitary or dirty conditions.

DURING THE NEXT 30 DAYS: Do not use products containing alcohol or products that contain glycolic, lactose, or fruit acids, and avoid salt or saline on the treatment area. Avoid any cosmetic injectables for 30 days. Avoid any prolonged sun exposure. After 30 days your brows are healed and you should begin to always apply SPF 30+ on the tattooed area.

*eyes:

CLEANSING: For the first evening and following morning of your procedure, blot or gently wipe the treated area with the provided antiseptic wipes. On the second day, the treated areas should be wiped down two times a day: Morning and evening – again only using the provided wipes.
DRY HEALING: For a minimum of 10 days, practice "dry healing," which means no water on the area. This includes avoiding sweating. When showering or washing your face, ensure water doesn't run into the eyes. You can use oil-free facial wipes to wash your face, but avoid the eye area.
NO EYE MAKE UP: Avoid using eye makeup for 10 days.
DO NOT SCRATCH OR REMOVE SCABS: Avoid scratching or removing scabs, dry skin, or flakiness, as this can result in color loss.
AVOID DIRECT WATER, CLEANSERS, OR HEAVY CREAMS: Do not let direct water touch the liner tattoo, and avoid the use of cleansers, soaps, and heavy creams.
MINIMIZE SWEATING: Avoid activities that cause major sweating for 10 days
PROTECT FROM UV EXPOSURE: Avoid excessive UV exposure, including tanning booths.
NO MASSAGES, FACIALS, OR SKIN TREATMENTS: Avoid massages, facials, and skin treatments for 2 weeks.
