You have unlocked access to the Secret Garden, where we grow NAILS.

Thank you for your support as I begin my career as a newly licensed nail technician.

I am currently offering limited booking availability for Russian manicures. You have been invited to schedule an appointment before bookings open to the general public.

Please note that my current pricing is set below standard industry rates to reflect my status as a new technician. Pricing may increase gradually over the coming months as I continue to improve in both technique and efficiency.

The Russian manicure technique includes meticulous product removal, nail preparation, structured gel application, broken/cracked nail repair, and nail art. I am blocking 3+ hour time slots so that I may take my time to execute the techniques I am working to master.

I may also follow up afterward to check in on product wear and durability - your feedback is incredibly valuable.

As I am building a product line, color and design options are limited.

The Russian manicure uses builder gel that has great adhesion to the natural nail. When done correctly, this enhancement can last 3-4 weeks. Competitive rates for a Russian manicure in Manhattan range from $80-$120, plus add-on fees for nail art depending on the time and skill required. For the time being, I am offering this service at a reduced rate - requested nail art may be added on to your service in advance or on the day of your appointment for a small fee.

Thank you for your support and patience during this exciting new chapter in my career!

Let’s start with the basics - there are many different types of manicures.

BASIC MANICURE:
In a basic manicure, regular nail polish is applied in thin layers and dries slowly over time. Before polishing, the nails are soaked in water to soften them, and the hands are massaged with oils and lotions to nourish the skin and create a relaxing, spa-like experience.
After polishing, you may sit under a nail dryer to help the polish set before you leave. A basic manicure typically lasts up to one week before it begins to chip.

GEL MANICURE:
A gel manicure is similar to a basic manicure, but instead of regular polish, a gel product is applied in thin layers. Each layer is cured (dried and hardened) under a UV or LED lamp, taking about 60 seconds or less per layer.
This results in a completely dry, durable finish that can last up to two weeks without chipping.

BUILDER GEL MANICURE:
A builder gel manicure uses a thicker, structured gel that adds strength and durability to the natural nail. This is especially helpful for clients with long nails or nails that are prone to breaking from impact.

RUSSIAN MANICURE:
A Russian manicure also uses builder gel, but the key difference is in the nail and cuticle preparation.
Unlike traditional manicures, this service is done completely dry—there’s no soaking or use of oils or lotions until after the manicure is finished. This helps prevent issues with product adhesion.

Nails naturally absorb moisture and expand when soaked—like a sponge or wood. As they dry, they shrink back to their original size. If gel or polish is applied while the nail is expanded, it can loosen as the nail contracts, which is why traditional manicures tend to chip sooner.

Russian manicures are known for their precise, detailed prep work and for painting gel as close to the cuticles and sidewalls as possible. This creates a seamless look with less noticeable grow-out. When done correctly, a Russian manicure can last up to four weeks.

WjAT IS A RUSSlAN MANICgRE?

WILL A RUSSIAN MANICURE DAMAGE MY NAILS?

No, the technique and the products used in a Russian manicure will not damage your nails if they are applied and removed properly.

Damage usually happens when gel is removed incorrectly, such as by picking or peeling it off, or by a nail technician who is rushing. If you experience any lifting or chipping, do not pick at the gel. Instead, return to me or visit a reputable technician for safe removal to protect your natural nails.

WILL THIS MANICURE REALLY LAST FOUR WEEKS?

I can't guarantee a full four weeks of wear, but that is the goal I aim for with every client.

As a new nail technician, I’m offering services at a reduced rate while I continue to refine my technique. My goal is to eventually deliver flawless Russian manicures that are worthy of a full-price service.

WHY IS THE APPOINTMENT THREE HOURS LONG? WILL IT REALLY TAKE THAT LONG?

Yes, at this stage, it probably will.

This technique is very detailed and time-consuming, especially as I continue building experience. I’ve scheduled three-hour blocks so I can take the time needed to deliver a high-quality manicure without rushing. Most appointments are currently taking the full three hours. I truly appreciate your patience during this learning period.

WHAT KIND OF NAIL ART CAN YOU DO?

There are so many possibilities!

If you find nail art you like on social media, send it to me before your appointment. I’ll let you know if it’s something I can do, something I’d like to practice beforehand, or if it’s a design I’m not quite ready to take on yet.
If you want nail art but aren't sure what style you want, I have a collection of inspiration photos you can look through during your appointment to help you decide.
